🎓 International Career Programme in Project Control & Business Management

The Project Control & Business Management Pathway is a professional postgraduate programme designed to train future Controllers and Cost Engineers for international companies operating in the Construction, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas sectors.

It is aimed at graduates in Economics, Statistics, Engineering Management, Finance, Mathematics, and related analytical fields interested in developing high-level skills in business performance monitoring and project-based cost control.

The programme combines a highly practical approach with direct exposure to corporate decision-making processes.

🧭 Phase 1 – International Orientation Experience

Held in Brussels or Manchester, this first phase offers:

  • Strategic insights into the operational models of multinational companies
  • Workshops on project control, budgeting, risk analysis, and forecasting
  • Case studies, interactive simulations, and software tools (e.g. Primavera P6)
  • Career coaching and interaction with industry professionals

📌 This is not an academic or university-based course, but a structured professional orientation programme designed to prepare graduates for direct entry into the international job market.

🏢 Phase 2 – Guaranteed Practical Placement

Participants complete a 5-month (1000-hour) full-time internship with one of Dirextra’s partner companies, based in Italy or other international destinations (excluding the UK).

Placement roles may include:

  • Project Controller
  • Junior Cost Engineer
  • Planning Analyst
  • Tender & Procurement Support
  • Site or HQ-based Financial Assistant

📋 Programme Structure

Total: 1,500 hours over two phases

🧭 Phase 1 – Professional Orientation Experience (500 hours)

Includes project simulations, business cases, software tools, and meetings with industry experts in Brussels or Manchester.

This phase is designed to prepare participants for real project environments.

🏢 Phase 2 – Practical Training (1,000 hours, 5 months)

Full-time internship within one of Dirextra’s partner companies, located in Italy or other international locations (excluding the UK).

🛏️ Accommodation and transfers are provided by the hosting company (not applicable for office-based roles).

 

🇮🇹 Sponsored Placement – Up to 70% Tuition Support

Thanks to the support of companies in the Construction and Oil & Gas sectors, eligible candidates can benefit from a sponsored placement, where up to 70% of the tuition fee is covered by the hiring companies.
